So much more than a logo and somewhat tricky
So much more than a logo and somewhat tricky to determine what Black Barn farm will become but a journey to define who we will be none the less.
We knew we wanted it to be more than just a graphic representation but we didn’t know where to begin in our hunt for the artist who would create our brand mark. As is usually the case, patience rewarded us with the answer in Albury -based fine-art illustrator Will Pleydon, who had recently completed a permaculture garden calendar for Lou Bull, and the artwork was so breathtaking it was not even a conversation Charlie and I had to have.
A quick Google search taught us that Amy and Will Pleydon were also the parents of 7 children…yep that’s not a typo and that Will was also a school principal…how will he ever have time to create some beautiful black barn images?
Images of what? Was the next question…an apple for sure, I needed an animal but Charlie thinks a chicken is too cliche…what about a goose? What about a pomegranate? A branch of berries? I know…a walnut? Or a head of garlic? Perhaps all in one still life…perhaps one still life that doesn’t show any of these but shows muddy boots and a pit of comfrey instead…the oaths can be added later.
Quite a decision making journey…aided by Pinterest and the vast array of brands available to adapt and replicate. Thankfully we both agree of it being black and white…phew
